Patrice Chen-Tom  is the Founder and CEO of My Love for Autism, Inc. & My Love for Autism CBD, Inc. foundations dedicated to Autism Advocacy. Her inspiration comes from her profound love for her Autistic son Thai-Lee. Patrice founded My Love for Autism due to her passion to serve as an advocate for Autism awareness. Her hope is to be able to open a centre dedicated to Occupational Therapy and provide Autistic children and their families with an affordable way to cope with the challenges that accompany this disorder. As a support group; parents and families living with Autism can connect and provide encouragement for each other. My Love for Autism CBD Inc. was created to provide an alternative to prescribed medication often suggested by healthcare professionals. Patrice is hoping to provide a safer and less adverse option for parents with Autistic children to aide in behavioural issues that's associated with autism such as severe anxiety, hyperactivity, panic attacks, tics, dyspraxia, adhd, and aggression. Single mother to Thai-Lee and Ayden-Lee, this is her journey.

Having given birth to Thai in 2005 at the age of 22, a child is an exciting adventure and blessing to any mother. The realization that Thai was unlike other children took quite an emotional toll on Patrice as she didn’t know where to start or how she could assist Thai. The feeling of helplessness and devastation quickly set in. Thai was special. At the age of 5, Thai was diagnosed with Autism.

With her second child on the way, Ayden-Lee, Patrice began educating herself on the Autism Spectrum and what that meant for her newfound journey as a mother with an Autistic child. Life was forever different now. The Spectrum is broad she learned. It ranged from Applied Behavioural Analysis, Self Stimulatory-Behaviour, (Also known as Stimming) to Sensory Issues and so much more. This was only the beginning.

Patrice embraced and accepted Thai’s Autism. With a tremendous amount of love, strength, patience, persistence and support, Patrice understood that if there is a will, there is a way. With the assistance of his teacher, family and professionals, Thai has gained more ground than anyone would have thought possible from his original diagnosis breaking barriers and exceeding his potential!

With Thai’s keen interest in computer science, after completing the 1st grade, Thai received a scholarship to attend a private school of his choice. Patrice Chen-Tom created My Love For Autism CBD, Inc. for her Autistic Son Thai-lee.  A CBD company that makes CBD edibles and other CBD products. Thai-lee is now 16 yrs. old and going through puberty, with the changes in his hormones I’ve seen a total switch within him. The AGGRESSION OUTBURST, SEVERE ANXIETY, YELLING and ATTACKING. My real mission is to create employment, independence and self worth for both of my sons, Thai-lee, Ayden-lee and others with autism so they can enjoy and be proud of themselves. Teach them money management skills, social skills, etc. “Ninety per cent of people with autism are unemployed or underemployed,” It’s a staggering number. What’s more disappointing is that it can be difficult for those with autism to find meaningful employment. 

 

In the state of Florida, the vast majority of people on the spectrum are unemployed, with workplaces afraid to hire them, unable or unwilling to accommodate the hours to provide the extra help they might need. So I figured that I would create a business that can help my son grow and become independent and also be with him at all times in a safe environment.

 

My Love For Autism CBD, Inc. will bring Thai-lee’s level of interaction, communication and happiness to the next level knowing that he is the CEO of his very own CBD Company that has changed his life for the better. “It gives him a SAFE place in society where he feels GREAT with HIGH SELF ESTEEM .”
